He was in that stratosphere with Griffey Jr. as far as cards went in the 90s. Maybe they were mad because he had a product contract with Leaf. Also wonder how many of these guys were #1 instead of the round number. Oh... I guess Ryan only having four appearances is surprising as well. I'm not too surprised at Mo only making one "00" appearance. He's hands down the greatest reliever... but he's a reliever.

P.S. Never took the time to appreciate that 1982 Topps Winfield. That's a great looking card.Fujihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00749100861086458307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-83662304103089806462018-12-06T08:38:08.691-05:002018-12-06T08:38:08.691-05:00Yesterday I asked about the least memorable player...Yesterday I asked about the least memorable players to get 00 numbers. I looked through a few checklists--just a sample--and here's a nominee: in 1987, Dave Bregman gets 700! Gary Carter, Tony Gwynn, Ozzie Smith, and Tim Raines were all more or less in their primes and had never gotten a 00 number, but Dave Bregman gets the call.
