I not only have the three that show him as a Cub, but I even have the Dodger Barney version too.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRG8ijXJ-fn9dTHQHJWQXhdRBnaJm6Pi_CbGyIwuhnJDkJ-rDjMEo8LBLxkzBJ-ZF0mY9EbzOg-2ucI6JEUK4QEqcomknDBvuU7df9JdYYeNFC0AXRghbqWffK-SvfeU8AlI8V3AwT5ATO9Zkeuf5q6WbuRqAprzB2q4UFNp10Z5cmm_5WodJfBbYWk3FG/s524/Billy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="349" data-original-width="524" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRG8ijXJ-fn9dTHQHJWQXhdRBnaJm6Pi_CbGyIwuhnJDkJ-rDjMEo8LBLxkzBJ-ZF0mY9EbzOg-2ucI6JEUK4QEqcomknDBvuU7df9JdYYeNFC0AXRghbqWffK-SvfeU8AlI8V3AwT5ATO9Zkeuf5q6WbuRqAprzB2q4UFNp10Z5cmm_5WodJfBbYWk3FG/w640-h426/Billy.jpg" width="640" /></a></p><p>The final two items are of Billy Williams. It’s coming out on April 10. While we wait, I created my version of Heritage 2024.</p><p>The set has many different color combinations that are not team-specific. Every team gets the variety pack. I'm not sure why, but my favorite for the Cubs was a combo that features dark brown. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFmGypKJTpIaEk2u5zy-31rKMOQYO3fJFJvT4DMyiB1ha4wKIpt0zK9eGHwIPbObF1jnZfj9laBVnu9XIm4nLZ9K5kDgTrbkPVP7XXUUfaDqbarJNCnKX5-GTXfoay5xbKf2XpvM1g1I8YcC92vE-eIPOAjgxhAMxERDGjTHIgJ3rrwa4k38Rs5dDNNtt5/s705/Topps%201975%20%20Team.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="507" data-original-width="705" height="288" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFmGypKJTpIaEk2u5zy-31rKMOQYO3fJFJvT4DMyiB1ha4wKIpt0zK9eGHwIPbObF1jnZfj9laBVnu9XIm4nLZ9K5kDgTrbkPVP7XXUUfaDqbarJNCnKX5-GTXfoay5xbKf2XpvM1g1I8YcC92vE-eIPOAjgxhAMxERDGjTHIgJ3rrwa4k38Rs5dDNNtt5/w400-h288/Topps%201975%20%20Team.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p>Maybe it was because the team card has that color. I was running out of room for more so I made new shelves that are a foot longer than the originals. Each foot gives me room for four more packs, so that means I have space for an additional twelve more years. I also painted the shelves the wall color. The shelves almost end up hiding in the wall and the packs stand out more.</p><p>We're very pleased with the room and look forward to enjoying its use for many years.</p>Wrigley Waxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04609243184562074109noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-46539265435993764992024-03-11T07:00:00.009-04:002024-03-11T07:00:00.130-04:00A Star of MLB Heads to AAA<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX5mwne9icf2hnySmUS9bWqFD5QxVRl-ywr89AmRJsjNSmqQxE5_vDCj06wR7gBl9lS8MiAI0nB181vJsYCQ-XVGA-jICEhOfQFcFom6YDhOEtlENKmpFj034qUvaWen9AuU2zHmO3MJkcodsbKWDpHGODnXMzrR51gzEBzdjuHXF8FPJj0xyoPEopyVqu/s705/Topps%202024%20zzStars%20of%20MLB%20Crow-Armstrong.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="705" data-original-width="504" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX5mwne9icf2hnySmUS9bWqFD5QxVRl-ywr89AmRJsjNSmqQxE5_vDCj06wR7gBl9lS8MiAI0nB181vJsYCQ-XVGA-jICEhOfQFcFom6YDhOEtlENKmpFj034qUvaWen9AuU2zHmO3MJkcodsbKWDpHGODnXMzrR51gzEBzdjuHXF8FPJj0xyoPEopyVqu/w286-h400/Topps%202024%20zzStars%20of%20MLB%20Crow-Armstrong.jpg" width="286" /></a> </p><p>The Cubs did some roster trimming over the weekend and Stars of MLB Pete Crow-Armstrong was sent to AAA. If I was doing the 90's I'd also skip Bowman. I decided to include Bowman in the '80s for two reasons. First, there is just one year to deal with, 1989. Secondly, this is the first year of the resurrected Bowman brand.</p><p>Topps brought back the Bowman name after keeping it on the shelf for over 30 years. They not only brought back the name, but the set also saw the return of the oversized cards. The 1989 Bowman cards are the same size as the 1950s Bowman, 2 1/2" x 3 3/4".</p><p>There are 484 cards in the set and 19 of them are Cubs.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZHhcacLB7P90XeKPTItvw8uGnq43fI4aKNlofcUsMny23wG8XqiGANxdeT2EO5G_a42TmkuEJRWGO5_r-XyaRbn8SYPrPZi4AWKy3f54Z1oQDNkrwNvPHFAfjJUYIfkxo7JJqR_LFzgu7nrDNKfEbS-RD6R66pOvrqQZhpj7xMofoILVaTKBXw4PgduFq/s1144/Bowman%201989.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1144" data-original-width="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZHhcacLB7P90XeKPTItvw8uGnq43fI4aKNlofcUsMny23wG8XqiGANxdeT2EO5G_a42TmkuEJRWGO5_r-XyaRbn8SYPrPZi4AWKy3f54Z1oQDNkrwNvPHFAfjJUYIfkxo7JJqR_LFzgu7nrDNKfEbS-RD6R66pOvrqQZhpj7xMofoILVaTKBXw4PgduFq/s16000/Bowman%201989.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: left;">It's nice to be able to read the autographs, because that is the only way to identify the players without having to turn over the card.</p>Wrigley Waxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04609243184562074109noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-2438560491288098812024-03-08T07:00:00.000-05:002024-03-08T07:00:00.451-05:00The Cubs 2023 Season Ticket Holder Set<p> The Cubs have partnered with Topps several times over the years to create special Cubs-only sets. Last year they put together a 14-card set that was given to season ticket holders. I guess that the Cubs were trying to do all they could to keep those fans happy. </p><p>The product on the field hasn't been too great, so fourteen baseball cards will make those season ticket holders happy and willing to pony up several thousand dollars again the next season.</p><p>Sure.</p><p>Anyway, back to the cards. They mimic the 2022 Heritage set, using the 1973 design. I wonder why they used the previous season's Heritage and not 2023? A few of the players are in both sets and their Cubs card has a picture different from the one in 2022 Heritage, so that is a good thing. The cards also have a special Cubs season ticket holder marking on them</p><p>The set has both current players and top prospects. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbTpgUcI8yvdQs74iyYdz7MtRuI3-VTvdgNKs2mYzvVeGST5qltt_DA2er44xaUtVKJKopWbP9h397gtujF4JYhPijDSBOg1VurMwJoN9T5hWa9HyqDf31A-uqIqKNXLG2BNvaO-9w-ftt5xYHXoYfLfSu3nzWlmxdAlBTeUlaPvvFNbehaKZcCSZI97_t/s705/Team%20Issue%202023%20Season%20Tickets%20Alcantara.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Right now neither of the pair follow my autograph collection rules. They have not yet had a certified autograph card showing them as a Cub in a year that they played for the Cubs.</p><p>That could change in April. Wicks did a nice job in his seven starts last September and most likely will make the Cubs 2024 roster. Once he gets into a game, with the above card from 2024 Topps Series One, he becomes a rule follower. </p><p>Palencia made his debut on July 4, 2023, and made 27 appearances out of the bullpen over the last three months. He's on the bubble to make the team out of spring training, but even if he doesn't, he will most likely be called up sometime during the season. Picking up his card was a bit more of a gamble compared to the Wicks card, but it only set me back five bucks, so it was worth taking a shot.</p><p>I'll have my regular rule making post with all the cards and lists once either, or both, make an appearance with the 2024 Cubs.</p>Wrigley Waxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04609243184562074109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-64360434124028459902024-03-06T07:00:00.001-05:002024-03-06T07:00:00.246-05:00Progress!<p>Thanks for all the kinds words and encouragement on the headquarters renovation. And of course if you are going to put in a new floor, you need to paint the walls first. While you're at it, the electrical should be upgraded and the lighting changed too.</p><p>So guess what I've been working at since Christmas. It's been an on and off process and I first try to figure things out.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXFCPW_9M3yT380NvDVTDxBard6YXvSOhNvGOnm6wj-hMaTsYeMKdKiiTRejr27-1bbfnDm9v_fPtql6Y2pumdM7mOkq6DxoZ-eXSEWZQQAEoXHUJn81exFxY69pTqiA3jsLtXYOo3CqpbiFkEsXdQ6KpCbqC3n0lyEAInj837AxeU4J2LxHTnLluqzNBu/s600/HQ01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXFCPW_9M3yT380NvDVTDxBard6YXvSOhNvGOnm6wj-hMaTsYeMKdKiiTRejr27-1bbfnDm9v_fPtql6Y2pumdM7mOkq6DxoZ-eXSEWZQQAEoXHUJn81exFxY69pTqiA3jsLtXYOo3CqpbiFkEsXdQ6KpCbqC3n0lyEAInj837AxeU4J2LxHTnLluqzNBu/w400-h300/HQ01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiOI_N8kmh4biCq6iUHKDSCQIHRNZkVTFcBnBfXqhBXIhDq86mNpVvGRfHyZqn-o_vnyKcfk0XOU1RiQWRym6BvExXFTlokZV90eehbBr2q9nPHGFzZ7KsaQ5uJq6NCFRflCDMfux73G-xP61cVCZ4QLHzAQQn4wg_06Zc7xuh_le7jeykjpv2zu_1yjLv/s600/HQ04.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiOI_N8kmh4biCq6iUHKDSCQIHRNZkVTFcBnBfXqhBXIhDq86mNpVvGRfHyZqn-o_vnyKcfk0XOU1RiQWRym6BvExXFTlokZV90eehbBr2q9nPHGFzZ7KsaQ5uJq6NCFRflCDMfux73G-xP61cVCZ4QLHzAQQn4wg_06Zc7xuh_le7jeykjpv2zu_1yjLv/w400-h300/HQ04.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih5GMGUtJBVGRaEEQBCakRXzkFXFHTiGW5WJT_VGdAL6xKFTcBA5wNpNF9xYapreuMeVGjDYuWgFMV5kqAVGZgLMda0Juxz-QZlOg1nVGhz4MBTOx-LbHIR_jJA4K1FcqNq33aAocsRFDMeS542YVpSyyrCBbOlepuXFSMCBNMYCfqi2GuaGuzA6wdVaJ1/s928/HQ02.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="928" data-original-width="500" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih5GMGUtJBVGRaEEQBCakRXzkFXFHTiGW5WJT_VGdAL6xKFTcBA5wNpNF9xYapreuMeVGjDYuWgFMV5kqAVGZgLMda0Juxz-QZlOg1nVGhz4MBTOx-LbHIR_jJA4K1FcqNq33aAocsRFDMeS542YVpSyyrCBbOlepuXFSMCBNMYCfqi2GuaGuzA6wdVaJ1/w215-h400/HQ02.JPG" width="215" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjREVg4X3SChOaDFQq6V0UMwUr_pCK8DNewW8_BS4D1OL0yrfEIeyZVuqUrRD1rCgG7RmV4bt7IAlt7lWjAXm_dQBm9B5yD76PvR5CCDO_fc4TWgJFNtD9QApLQmmN0_2I-PXmvDbVSFzfPWzGAjkeILsR2fCIqCkiwtF3mWdgbEoEp1LTOioTbQ7PzgCHw/s800/HQ03.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjREVg4X3SChOaDFQq6V0UMwUr_pCK8DNewW8_BS4D1OL0yrfEIeyZVuqUrRD1rCgG7RmV4bt7IAlt7lWjAXm_dQBm9B5yD76PvR5CCDO_fc4TWgJFNtD9QApLQmmN0_2I-PXmvDbVSFzfPWzGAjkeILsR2fCIqCkiwtF3mWdgbEoEp1LTOioTbQ7PzgCHw/w300-h400/HQ03.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIeqdH9TBCdQ9-5f0ONZPX2hHE3OuumXj0R3LeAc7UaQVZaajYv-sdCFWm4zoEsFEVfN_-xCmpnHpKqHQKHog3mq3BmHhJ3ZjviAi46QalWaZN5OBABGJvn0WhB32B90KeGFXa4iRCzEwwjYSOFQTqhSqZdB1kB85ODa_lb10wWQ0qQqBMmzZEkf4gCvqV/s866/HQ05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="866" data-original-width="600" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIeqdH9TBCdQ9-5f0ONZPX2hHE3OuumXj0R3LeAc7UaQVZaajYv-sdCFWm4zoEsFEVfN_-xCmpnHpKqHQKHog3mq3BmHhJ3ZjviAi46QalWaZN5OBABGJvn0WhB32B90KeGFXa4iRCzEwwjYSOFQTqhSqZdB1kB85ODa_lb10wWQ0qQqBMmzZEkf4gCvqV/w278-h400/HQ05.jpg" width="278" /></a></div><p>These pictures show the headquarter before the work began. </p><p>This was not going to be a fun project because I'd have to move out all the folders and shelves, along with my desk. Regular games starts in less than a month. Fans start getting excited about the upcoming season, and Topps has nothing until May 8. Wouldn't you want to be getting things out at the start of the season? </p><p>Last year Topps Opening Day, which was usually an early release, was killed and replaced with Big League. The release date for Big League was March 31. Since its not on the release schedule, has it been killed too?</p><p>I went back and looked at the 2019 release dates, the last pre-covid year. Heritage came out on February 27. In March we got Opening Day and Gypsy Queen. Bowman was in stores on April 17. May 15 was when Big League showed up. So that's five products while in the same time frame this year we get one.</p><p>Heritage is the biggie that is missing from the schedule. I've seen release dates mentioned online of March 13 and March 24. But nothing official has come from Topps.</p><p>Maybe Topps is delaying things so that they can show the players that got traded or signed as free agents with their new teams.</p><p>Yes, sure, of course, that's it. </p>Wrigley Waxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04609243184562074109noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-39170541668497011872024-03-03T07:00:00.031-05:002024-03-03T07:00:00.141-05:00Five Random Cubs Cards<p><span style="font-family: arial;">I've got 21,680 </span><span style="font-family: arial;">Cubs cards from 316</span><span style="font-family: arial;"> different brands listed on a spreadsheet. The park wasn't new, but a renovated and reimagined <i>Circus World. </i> Clowns, acrobats, and elephants were out and batters, pitchers and Royals were in. In addition to the theme park, the site added a ballpark that was used by the Royals for spring training and their Class A team during the regular season.</p><p>The theme park was not successful and closed after being opened for just three years. Eventually, the rides were sold, the property was sold, and several large stores are now on the property.</p><p>The set of cards was just a one and done. It was made by Topps and has features 33 stars of the day. The boxed set was sold at the theme park. Two Cubs were included.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtrq0aEg0DPHvaCUg5DVK5atZSqsiojUwbiOYhKDolqIlutLRCVmQtnAKJOPA-0KnxcxQQ-8vI64xegAQNSJTSH6j_pwEGYfms36-3m5dU4T8G060bRDPy-QesBUpPtuhXFxQ0A4CnMKxbprxjT1jnU6NxiTpsuLOdiPkY3-RBCmURIJc-Q1-59vsPLQgf/s705/Boardwalk%20and%20Baseball%201987%20Durham.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="705" data-original-width="503" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtrq0aEg0DPHvaCUg5DVK5atZSqsiojUwbiOYhKDolqIlutLRCVmQtnAKJOPA-0KnxcxQQ-8vI64xegAQNSJTSH6j_pwEGYfms36-3m5dU4T8G060bRDPy-QesBUpPtuhXFxQ0A4CnMKxbprxjT1jnU6NxiTpsuLOdiPkY3-RBCmURIJc-Q1-59vsPLQgf/s320/Boardwalk%20and%20Baseball%201987%20Durham.jpg" width="228" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYx4U_NT5QSE_9YETRiBrf3VXMLIzw5f4KwcHSssUzVLujWBNtyvyjxtfynkEGPsYPz6_IqCbEliXCTrcY7FYQP6L0Z14CcagYkMp9GsEZk5ZphJinc4T2jJQL7uStOe4IoLUx1TgZKTSwGpJ9aEbWKARvgIJW0DWo4Adk1wUgin6XiVPZ7Nyoffxmx6Si/s705/Boardwalk%20and%20Baseball%201987%20Sandberg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="705" data-original-width="501" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYx4U_NT5QSE_9YETRiBrf3VXMLIzw5f4KwcHSssUzVLujWBNtyvyjxtfynkEGPsYPz6_IqCbEliXCTrcY7FYQP6L0Z14CcagYkMp9GsEZk5ZphJinc4T2jJQL7uStOe4IoLUx1TgZKTSwGpJ9aEbWKARvgIJW0DWo4Adk1wUgin6XiVPZ7Nyoffxmx6Si/s320/Boardwalk%20and%20Baseball%201987%20Sandberg.jpg" width="227" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">There is a more scarce version of each card that does not include the slash between the two B's inside the white circle.</div>Wrigley Waxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04609243184562074109noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-5355107609863738832024-03-01T07:00:00.002-05:002024-03-01T07:00:00.135-05:00Stars of LMB??<p> Did Topps do this on purpose or did someone screw up?</p><p>For years the general Topps trend for numbering insert sets is to use the initials from the set and then add the card numbers. The Heavy Lumber cards are all numbered using HL- then the card number. 2023 Greatest Hits use 23GH-. This is a logical way to number the cards.</p><p>The Stars of MLB insert first arrived in 2022.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv1UxTvU6Y-Tr2Jz6ojBCJd9jlppU55VxP-rC6IGyym7Hc7QZXuAEGcZHF6yqE3wR59BA5YO9cW95jT2I3nu9tbsUUzsyAwdhg5OUD_xvJxEWS2XO8x6xgY7kmnvOxVH9T8WiG3kwW-cYPpEyXxaFzgFR_fFhJ4Xp9W5cgrd6EkEw7-AWVT-hZYUe-DcX7/s500/2021%20back%20big.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="116" data-original-width="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv1UxTvU6Y-Tr2Jz6ojBCJd9jlppU55VxP-rC6IGyym7Hc7QZXuAEGcZHF6yqE3wR59BA5YO9cW95jT2I3nu9tbsUUzsyAwdhg5OUD_xvJxEWS2XO8x6xgY7kmnvOxVH9T8WiG3kwW-cYPpEyXxaFzgFR_fFhJ4Xp9W5cgrd6EkEw7-AWVT-hZYUe-DcX7/s16000/2021%20back%20big.jpg" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Topps used SMLB- for the card designation. He gave me 18 of the 34 different cards from the 2022 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary set. It was by far my biggest Billy rainbow to date.</p><p>But why settle for 18 when there were many out more versions out there. I owed it to Tim to get as many of the 34 as possible... or at least that was the excuse I used to go on a buying binge!</p><p>I was able to come up with an additional twelve cards, bringing my total to 30 of the 34 cards. </p><p>Here's what I've got. The ones in bold came from Tim and I picked up the others.</p><p><b>Base <br />Refractors <br />Black & White Mini-Diamond Refractors (Lite only) <br />X-Fractors (Hobby and Lite only) <br />Prism Refractors (retail only) <br />Blue Prism Refractors (retail only) </b><br />Aqua Lava Refractors (/299) <br /><b>Yellow RayWave Refractors (/250) </b><br />Blue Mini-Diamond Refractors (/199) <br />Platinum Toile White/Blue Refractors (/199) <br /><b>Speckle Refractors (/150)

I have saved eBay searched for each, but I doubt I'll ever see any of them.</p><p>The 30 cards make a nice 5x6 mosaic and below that if a GIF with all of the cards. The cards in both the mosaic and the GIF are shown in the order as listed above, in case you want to figure out what each looks like.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdwg_Shdex3Y7au8LvWMiZbFsXNT8lM-8TGeNxPNnyu09G3ETkWR5fbt30MxPveGPTo1miUlNBVyOVoKTmY03EdkGgPw-GZhgDnhhlheqdXZJAAgnbKk0TFlvA-PS7NY8fjPT_niJpeeMK7MSajfy5yf5Z4O6aseTu4dNfsJa35usS8-hdm-byaezvwJNl/s1009/Billy%20Rainbow%205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1009" data-original-width="600" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdwg_Shdex3Y7au8LvWMiZbFsXNT8lM-8TGeNxPNnyu09G3ETkWR5fbt30MxPveGPTo1miUlNBVyOVoKTmY03EdkGgPw-GZhgDnhhlheqdXZJAAgnbKk0TFlvA-PS7NY8fjPT_niJpeeMK7MSajfy5yf5Z4O6aseTu4dNfsJa35usS8-hdm-byaezvwJNl/s16000/Billy%20Rainbow%205.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL2KnxvSoBQBsCreP6AsuXp7SWscFoi3fe2J2NLS4Xapb6JQ7Mk_0yR8V_19SMqoIEeyMZvT_3eHLJlKib6DN7xpqN4xqgEVNPZt-GqIRBS_I9r1-qH7JSaacCXTytgdmhxqlklhm0Yhe2zm6P2LXVxBEbGovIAcIbmltwDg0hYbXS5uueP3slzlen_21E/s705/Billy%20Rainbow%20GIF.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="705" data-original-width="504" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiL2KnxvSoBQBsCreP6AsuXp7SWscFoi3fe2J2NLS4Xapb6JQ7Mk_0yR8V_19SMqoIEeyMZvT_3eHLJlKib6DN7xpqN4xqgEVNPZt-GqIRBS_I9r1-qH7JSaacCXTytgdmhxqlklhm0Yhe2zm6P2LXVxBEbGovIAcIbmltwDg0hYbXS5uueP3slzlen_21E/s16000/Billy%20Rainbow%20GIF.gif" /></a></div><br /><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p>Wrigley Waxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04609243184562074109noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-916244525704951667.post-40616601877820270092024-02-25T07:00:00.016-05:002024-02-25T07:00:00.133-05:00Five Random Cubs Cards<p><span style="font-family: arial;">I've got 21,632 </span><span style="font-family: arial;">Cubs cards from 316</span><span style="font-family: arial;"> different brands listed on a spreadsheet. Stephen's mom, Evangeline, painted the pictures, based on postcards she was provided. Stephen wrote the information on the card backs, and Linda did most everything else, with packaging help from their kids.</p><p>They issued sets in 1982, 1983, and 1985. Their business ended when MLB threatened them with legal action for the unauthorized logo use.<br /></p><p>Back in 2020 I was able to ask the Mitchell's some questions about their sets and Stephen answered promptly and in detail. I posted about it <a href="https://wrigleywax.blogspot.com/2020/07/big-league-collectibles-stephen-and.html" target="_blank">here</a>. I really suggest you read it as it is pretty interesting.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxej6Kj0shiUIM2YdXt-Qf6RKKSA8CLc3kyZWXNFvrx83MYjscFObT3Ij0fYyI2w3pNxuLizmj_8QY2vVKV0jPDUC86vQsR2BYd2AZCrlJV3Ku_P8ktkKJ4LJk7I1KCuIX8Qk_Pn4BLNdEx6f6urBl_4IgF_O9ndBCSJPngLj1Ug9q6Sqr-L4OXVd4RttM/s400/1982.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxej6Kj0shiUIM2YdXt-Qf6RKKSA8CLc3kyZWXNFvrx83MYjscFObT3Ij0fYyI2w3pNxuLizmj_8QY2vVKV0jPDUC86vQsR2BYd2AZCrlJV3Ku_P8ktkKJ4LJk7I1KCuIX8Qk_Pn4BLNdEx6f6urBl_4IgF_O9ndBCSJPngLj1Ug9q6Sqr-L4OXVd4RttM/s16000/1982.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">These are the two Cubs from their first set, Diamond Classics I, released in 1982. There are not that many Swanson autographs that show him with the Cubs. The TCDB lists 21 different Swanson autograph cards from 2023 that show him with the Cubs. Of those sets, 19 list the print run. I added them up and found that these have a total of 661 cards signed by Swanson in those 19 sets. Add the other two and I'd say there aren't more than 725 total.</p><p>This comes from the Topps Brooklyn Collection, which came out on December 19. You can see that there are 99 of these available. I paid more than I normally would for a card, but being as scarce as it is, I was not upset with the price.</p><p>I now have certified autographs for 164 different Cubs players with at least one auto card from a year that they played for the Cubs and the card shows them with the Cubs. I still need to get one for Cody Bellinger, but that is proving to be more difficult (and pricey) than it was for Swanson.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinTYWxTwqRFVKpv1GthJJVQ_qjovcwgPVvYq0Bs8JxA8OElOyWq0WZAAuXw60jG51nqH2pghyphenhyphenvzmeefF1_OD6pdPiaBje18fRjCtScPxyd6ta0IGO76xdzg_0Vz64_DF7G966iJ26ibZXbTHsR_tnfGflj2SToBWHsX2puPxHsdFl3bu7LpwvRJz6VmWJa/s600/AAA%20Horizontal%20Tile%20%2033.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em;
