Heritage 2010 is Live...Really

Eleven months ago I wrote this post about Heritage 2010 being live. The post was written on April 1. Most of you got the joke. But Google didn't. And I've been getting a boat-load of hits from people looking for 2010 Heritage, the real thing.

Today, I've got the real thing.

My Cubs team set has arrived!

I've always enjoyed the Heritage concept. And with it, you know that some years are going to look better than others, because of the original design. The 1961 design it not one of the most well liked, but it is what it is. So that means Heritage 2010 is what it is. My only complaint is that the pictures on the card seem washed out. The original '61's had nice sharp photography. The Heritage cards aren't sharp at all.

Heritage is not a set that I look to complete; its Cubs only. And the team set cost me only a couple bucks. So its an affordable, enjoyable set for me. I don't have to worry about a bunch of SP's or hits. Just get me the Cubs.

There are 14 players in the set. This year Topps included all of the biggest names on the team. The entire starting infield (Ramirez, Theriot, Fontenot, Lee, and Soto), two of the starting outfielders (Soriano and Fukudome) plus the top four starters (Zambrano, Dempster, Lilly, and Wells) are there. Throw in the team card (no floating heads yet, we have ten more years for that!), Jeff Samardzija, and rookie Tyler Colvin and you've got them all.

Here are your 2010 Heritage Cubs:

  1. The Theriot card seem airbrushed.

As a side note: I noticed Theriot's 2008 Topps Chrome card had the rookie card logo but not his regular Topps card. Which one was the mistake, if you know.
