The second edition of First Edition came out in 2008. It consists of 300 cards in a base set and 300 more in an update. Quick question though, wouldn't the update be the second edition?
The designs are nearly identical to the UD base set. That differs from 2007, when the First Edition cards had a different colored border. The differences are that there are the words "First Edition" below the player's names, though that applies to only the first 300 cards. The update cards don't have that designation. Seems odd that they removed it. The First Edition cards also lack the foil printing found on the flagship cards.
The players in the first 300 cards are all from UD's base set's first series, while the update set has players from series two. A total of 16 Cubs cards are in 2008 First Edition.
So the update series is First Edition but doesn't SAY "First Edition"? I will never understand cards from that era.
