Three Down, One to Go

I was born in 1961. As a Chicago sports fan, championships in my lifetime have been far and few between.

There has been the Bears in 1963, which I don't remember, and 1985 which was very memorable.

Thanks to Michael Jordan, the Bulls won an armful in the 1990's

And last night, the Blackhawks did it! What an exciting and exhausting game that was! I kept waiting for a Bartman-type incident to snatch the game away. When they gave up a goal late in the third period that tied the game, I figured they were in trouble.

But Patrick Kane had other ideas and now the Stanley Cup belongs to the Blackhawks.

So that's three teams down, and one to go.

I sure hope I'll get to celebrate one of these once in my lifetime!

  1. I don't think the Cubs drought can last longer than, say...another 50 years or so. If you can hang on that long, you may be able to see it. I know they will win one before the Pirates, that's for sure.

  2. I saw my long drought Chicago baseball team win one of those in my lifetime (as now all the other major Chicago sports). The Cubs time will come eventually.
