The Cubs traded outfielder Brian Bogusevic to the Marlins yesterday in a swap of mediocre outfielders. Coming to the Cubs is right handed-hitting Justin Ruggiano.
The Brian Bogusevic era lasted all of 47 games over two stints with a DL trip in between. He hit .273, but the Cubs had an abundance of left-handed hitting outfielders. That made him expendable.
I was born and raised in the SW suburb of Oak Lawn. So was Brian Bogusevic. But he grew up a Sox fan--which must explain his career .236 average.
He was with the team long enough to make the 2013 Update checklist. Behold the one and only card of Brian Bogusevic in Cubbie blue
With this trade, Theo has all the pieces in place for that World Series title we've been waiting for since 1908.
I see another 90 loss season coming. Competitive in 2016?
