Five Random Cubs Cards

I've got 13,867 Cubs cards from 105 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.

1900s - 1970s: 1979 Topps #579 Greg Gross  Topps captured this picture of Gross in 1978 at the Cubs spring home in Scottsdale.  That was their last year there, as they moved to Mesa in 1979 and have been there ever since.

1980s: 1986 Donruss #76 Gary Matthews The 1986 season was the Sarge's last hurrah.  He had 21 homers, but just 46 RBIs.  

1990s: 1995 Stadium Club #181 Steve Buechele  Love the flip-down glasses that Buechele is wearing.  Some day I'll have to put together a tile of all flip-downs.

2000s: 2008 Heritage #304 Cubs Team What a disappointment the '08 team was.  The best record in the National League, and then swept in the NLDS.

2010s: 2015 Heritage Clubhouse Collection CCR-JB Javier Baez This was the only active Cub with a Clubhouse Collection card this year.  Baez had a nice September and had a big homer against the Cardinals in the NLDS.  It will be interesting to see what they plan to do with him and Castro.  Only one can play second base.
