Here's the set that is the basis for this year's Heritage, the funky 1972 Topps design. I really didn't like it as a kid in 1972 but it has grown on my over the years and now it is one of my favorite sets from the 70s.
The set is the first Topps set that didn't have a card for Ernie Banks. He is on the floating head team card, so maybe that counts.
Loved this set as a kid and it's still my favorite. Yet I'm still about 60 cards away from completing the set. I really liked that these cards were meant to appeal to the kids (as evidenced by the back of some of the In Action cards).
