A while back I decided that my run of scorecards would cover the era that the Cubs used 4-page card stock 8½" x 11" scorecards. That would be 1948 to now (prior to that the scorecard was part of a 6" x 9" program book). My collection went back to 1949, so I had one more to go, the 1948 card.
Now I can sit back and enjoy a completed collection!
Even though I'm not a Cubs fan, if someone were to issue a postcard-sized set of Otis Shepard program covers, I would be all over that set.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the ones from the late 70s and early 80s. Are those done by Shepard as well? The Kane County Cougars have been releasing scorecards that resemble these years as of late.
ReplyDeleteShepard retired in 1962...that year's card was his last one. The years following were done to mimic his style but it wasn't him. He died in 1969 (so did the Cubs!).
DeleteI miss Jays Potato Chips. Now that I live in the land of Golden Flake, I just don't eat potato chips any more!
ReplyDeleteCan't stop eating 'em!
DeleteWow, that's a great looking collection, congrats!
