I've got 19,507 Cubs cards from 285 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1958 Topps #66 Lee Walls Walls had a great season for the Cubs in 1958 as he blasted 24 homer, drove in 72 runs, and hit .304. He even made the All Star team. It was by far the best season of his career.
1980s: 1981 Cramer #33 Ernie Banks Cramer put out 30-cards sets for four years starting in 1980. The cards were number consecutively throughout the run. That explains why he has card #33 from the 1981 set that had just 30 cards.
Thanks for doing this blog. I enjoy it every day. I imagine the difficulty of managing a blog and getting up early each morning to complete it is more than we readers could know. I appreciate it and read it every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteTrue confession time -- I don't do this early in the morning. I'll usually do it after supper and then schedule it for the morning. Often I'll write several posts at one time and schedule them for the next days.
