Another one bites the dust, as Pacific is gone, leaving four brands. Donruss wasn't much help either, as they have just nine Cubs cards in their set. Topps and Upper Deck help to fill the gap with 26 and 25 Cubs, respectively. That is Topps' biggest total since 1988. Upper Deck's 25 Cubs is their biggest yet.
These are some of the oddest looking designs yet. Fleer is strange looking with 3 different designs. Upper Deck is blah looking with that bottom white design. Topps is still on that 5-6 run of brownish orangish borders that stick together. Donruss probably has the best design but as you mentioned there is just not enough of them. Another down year.
