The 2000 edition of Gold Label repeated the previous formula....100 players, three different classes of cards for each player. The difference in 2000 is that none of the classes were less common than the others. They were all made in equal numbers. Despite that, I just picked up class one.
Five Cubs made the checklist.
The Downs card is interesting to me because of the Harry Caray patch on his sleeve that the Cubs wore in 1998. Downs didn't make his debut until 2000 though.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking it must be a Spring Training shot but did they already have the patch in Spring Training that year since he died in February?
