Today's featured cards come from the 1991 MDA set. Oddly, though the set is called the MDA set, there is no mention of the Muscular Dystrophy Association anywhere on the card.
On the front you see a logo that says "They're All-Stars."
The backs mention the publisher, SmithKline Beecham. There is also mention of the MLB Players Alumni organization, who licensed the cards, since all of the 18 players on the checklist are retired. Lack of an MLB license means no logos.
The set was offered by the antacid, Tums. You had to send in $3.99 plus proofs of purchase and then they'd mail you the set. All proceeds went to MDA.
