Since his return to the starting rotation in early August, Carlos Zambrano has been pitching like the ace his huge contract says he is supposed to be. Now that he has been through some anger management we've been getting more of this....
a smiling, happy Carlos, and less of this....
screaming, psycho Carlos.
Here are the numbers from his starts since August 9th:
8 starts
6-0 with two no-decisions
1.63 ERA
46 2/3 innings pitched
42 strikeouts
35 hits allowed
The Cubs are still on the hook for another 2 years and $35.875 million. It would be nice to get something besides headaches in return from Carlos. Pitching like he has been these last two months would be nice.
Carlos certainly does look like he's having fun again. I've got my fingers crossed.
