Wrapping Up The 2019 Flagship Inserts

I've got the inserts recap today.

It was a down year for the team, and a down year for the number of inserts, too.  There are 63 Cubs inserts in the 2019 set.  Compare that to the 101 last year, 87 in 2017, and 81 in 2016.  Hopefully the number of inserts and the number of team wins goes up in 2020.

The 2019 Cubs inserts....

• Cubs were included in 14 of the 17 sets (they are missing in Family Business, Grapefruit League Greats, and Revolution of the Game
• 17 different players were shown
• 6 of the 17 players are with the Cubs right now (Baez, Bryant, Contreras, Darvish, Rizzo, Schwarber)
• 3 of of the 17 are on different teams (Arietta, Johnny Field, Daniel Murphy)
• 8 of the 17 are retired (Banks, Brock, Dawson, Jenkins, Grace, Sandberg, Williams, Wood)
• The most popular players were Ernie Banks, 13 cards, Javier Baez, 11 cards, and Kris Bryant, 10 cards.
• 12 of the inserts are horizontal
• 51 are vertical
