I've got 19,312 Cubs cards from 286 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1949 Eureka #75 Harry Walker I had no idea that Walker played for the Cubs until I got this Eureka stamp. It was a brief stint, though, just 42 games. I knew Walker as the manager of the Astros in the early 1970s.
1980s: 1988 Topps #262 Drew Hall After posting an ERA of 7.66, Hall was traded to the Rangers after the season. He was a bit part of the Mitch Williams / Rafael Palmeiro deal.
1990s: 1995 Fleer Ultra #139 Sammy Sosa This card has a shot of a pre-steroids Sosa taking a cut.2000s: 2003 Topps #635 Cubs Team With that fake wall that Topps used to cover up the batboys, I'm glad they no longer do team pictures.
That team card just looks weird. I agree that if that's how they're going to do it, they're better off without them.
