Happy Birthday To Me
...well, not me, but Wrigley Wax. Yup, it's been two years since the first post went up. It seems like two very quick years.
I'm still enjoying the whole blog thing, too. The biggest fear I had when starting out was running out of things to write about. That fear has been unfounded. As I keep adding to my collection, I have plenty to write about. A couple weeks ago, Play at the Plate had a couple posts about a blogger slowdown. That hasn't been me. I keep plugging away, with my one post a day, popping up on a computer near you each morning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern.
A year ago I had 52 followers. Now I'm up to 97. The daily hits have been slowly creeping up each month, too. I'm not in this for the numbers, but its nice to know that there are people out there reading my stuff. That helps motivate me to do more.
If I have any regrets, it would be the lack of trading I do. So many other blogs are filled with trade posts and I enjoying seeing all the swapping that's going on. But my collecting habits just don't lend themselves to trading. Since I focus only on Cubs, its just been easier (and cheaper) for me to buy complete team sets rather than buying boxes and blasters and putting my own sets together. But that means I've got nothing to trade because I've got nothing extra.
So what does the future hold for Wrigley Wax? More of the same I guess. And if you're OK with that, keeping coming back each day and leave a comment or two. I'll be here!

Congrats on your two year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThe Cubs focus problem is actually one of the reasons I buy blasters. I probably should just buy Red Sox cards off ebay. But, then I'd be done. I like having the turnover that comes with getting cards I don't want.
Happy birthday! Good luck in 2011!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the kind words!
ReplyDeleteGreat two years looking forward to reading for many more.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog-O-Birthdayversay! I'm glad you're not slowing down!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it takes me a month to read a year's worth of your blog. I found out about your blog on 9/14/14. Got to your first birthday on 10/15/14. Birthday #2 on 11/14/14. Onward! (hoped you liked getting Joe Maddon as your very belated birthday present!)
