I've got three different tiles because the cards came in three different sizes. The first tile has the smallest cards the Cubs issued, which were 2 5/16" x 3 1/2". The cards in the second and third tile are the oversized cards that were given away from 1986-1997. These big boys are 2 7/8" x 4 1/4". The cards in the final tile are the standard 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
All together there are 516 cards. But there should be 519. There are three from 2002 that I've been looking for for over a year. Not one of these has shown up on ebay, Sportlots, Beckett, or Checkoutmycards. The hunt for these is ongoing!

I have one that I don't think I see on here. It was from when Ryne Sandberg retired (for the second time). Have you seen that before?
ReplyDeletemoe.
Which three are you missing?
ReplyDeleteI'm missing 2002 Dave Kingman, Lee Smith and Don Cardwell. Moe...I haven't seen a Sandberg retirement card, though I've got the card from when his number was retired.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's what it was. I'll send you a pic of it sometime if I can find it.

My Sandberg #23 retired card is on the bottom row, third from the right. Is that the one you've got?
DeleteIf the Lee Smith that you're missing is in the style of a 1984 Topps card - I've got it. It's in an MBNA America sleeve and it was a give-away on September 28, 2002. Numbered 11 of 11. (I was there!)

Cool post. I find these cards more interesting than the regular Topps issues.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'm missing some of the Ron Santo's
ReplyDeleteAll those cards and no Tuffy Rhodes?
ReplyDeleteThere is one other set that I believe is stadium issued, but I am not positive. It's the Budweiser Top Ten moments at Wrigley field. The banks card from that set is on eBay right now for $1.99 if you want to grab it, or at least see what it looks like.
