The Cubs Did Make Some Baseball Cards This Year

In a post last week I was bemoaning the fact that the Cubs weren't making baseball cards to give away at Wrigley Field this year.  But it looks like they didn't completely get out of the baseball card business.

I saw the following pictures on Twitter, taken at Sloan Park, the Cubs spring training home in Mesa...

The outside wall is lined with giant Cubs cards!

I see four different Topps designs being used, the 1958 All-Star, 1959, 1963, and 1965.  I really like that the '63 and '65 cards use the logo that Topps originally used.  That is something that Topps didn't do when Heritage was based on these years.

Now the Cubs just need to shrink those down to 2½" x 3½", slap them on some cardboard, and give them away at Wrigley Field.

  1. They did this at the park last year as well. I'm glad to see they updated them with the roster.
