2024 Cub #37

The Cubs starting rotation took another hit on Saturday when Jordan Wicks was placed on the 15-day IL with a forearm strain.  He is the third member of the rotation currently on the IL.

Taking Wicks' spot on the roster is lefty reliever Richard Lovelady.  He pitched an inning in Sunday's game and got through unscathed.  His time with the Cubs organization is pretty limited, so I used a screen shot from the TV broadcast.

Even getting the screenshot was difficult because during his inning, there was an interview with Shota Imanaga taking place.  Imanaga got more screen time during the inning than Lovelady.

  1. What would you set the over/under at for number of players who suit up for the Cubs this year? We're already at 37 after one month. That seems pretty high for this point in the season.

    1. They hit 37 last year on May 25, so you're right. It is a pretty high number. But it's been due more to injuries instead of sucky players. Hopefully they can stay healthier as the season goes along. They ended last year with 48. I'm going to say 53 for this season.
