The Cubs netted one of the Greatest Moments... 8-8-88, the first night game at Wrigley Field.
Mr. Cub was the lone Cub among the 50 Greatest Players.
Two of the Greatest Seasons belonged to Cubs players. Ernie's great season was 1958, when he hit .313, belted 47 homers en route to his first of two consecutive NL MVP awards. For Jake Arrieta, it was 2015. Among his accomplishments were a 0.86 ERA over his last 20 starts of the season, winning 22 games, and tossing a no-hitter against the Dodgers.
Mmmmm... love that first night game card!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a greatest players/moments insert set (every once in a while), but the execution suffers when too many past players are not under contract with Topps.
