Only three player cards on the page and two are hatless.
#159 - Jerry Adair Adair had been bouncing around the American League. The Royals were his fourth team in four years. He's pictured in a Orioles uniform.
#160 - Vada Pinson The Cardinals picked up Pinson in the off-season from the Reds, as you can tell from the sleeveless jersey he is wearing.
#161 - John Purdin The Dodger righty is posed at Shea Stadium. He appeared in only nine games for the LA in 1969 and at the age of 26 his big league career was over
#162 - World Series Game 1 I like the look of these World Series cards. The black and white pictures match nicely with the newspaper theme. And unlike the 2008 UD Documentary set, these photos match with the game action. What a concept!
Game 1 saw Bob Gibson dominate the Tigers like he had the entire National League during the season. His 17 strikeouts stills stands as a World Series record. Detroit's 30 game winner Denny McLain was tagged with the loss.
#163 - World Series Game 2 The Tigers even the series with an 8-1 win. Detroit starter Mickey Lolich picked up a complete game victory.
#164 - World Series Game 3 The Tigers fall at home as future Fox sports idiot Tim McCarver homers.
#165 - World Series Game 4 The Cardinals roll behind Bob Gibson, routing Denny McLain and the Tigers 10-1. Gibson struck out "only" 10.
#166 - World Series Game 5 The Tigers stay alive with a 5-3 win. Mickey Lolich goes the distance and picks up his second series win.
#167 - World Series Game 6. The series returned to St. Louis with the Redbirds still needing only one more win. They failed in game 6 as the Tigers put up a 10 spot on the Cardinals in the third inning and go on to a 13-1 blowout. Denny McLain finally picks up a series win.
