compliments of Topps 1972
It's interesting that the border color on Blue's card is red and on Red's card it is blue.
A great baseball tradition that has been lost is the Fourth of July doubleheader. Actually, the plain old doubleheader is a thing of the past, but back in the day, teams pretty regularly played two on the fourth. I went through Cubs schedules of the 60's, 70's, and early 80's and they played an Independance Day doubleheader about 3/4's of the time. The last scheduled 4th of July twin bill was in 1983, and of course, they got swept by the Expos!
I applaud you on your ingenuity and patriotism. Very nice keeping it all in 1972 Topps.
