The 1982 O-Pee-Chee set is notable in that the set size was increased to exactly half of the Topps set, 396 cards. Both OPC and Topps would keep the same set sizes for the rest of the 1980s.
Set Size: O-Pee-Chee - 396, Topps 792
Cubs in set: O-Pee-Chee - 11 , Topps - 27
This is the first time we see the actual O-Pee-Chee logo on the front of the cards, instead of just the words. OPC also made good use of the red hockey sticks on the border to go bilingual with the positions.
The backs have all of the usual items that were changed up by OPC.
The O-Pee-Chee Cubs set includes a couple of big names acquired during the off-season, Larry Bowa and Fergie Jenkins. Jenkins' cards says "Traded to Cubs" but he was in fact signed as a free agent.
