I didn't see any advance notice about this, but the Topps Factory Team sets are back. The set's release was not mentioned on any of the upcoming release calendars that I follow. Why does Topps do that? Wouldn't you think they'd like to let collectors know when something is coming out? Seems to me it would be even more important with a product that was cancelled last year.
The factory set has always been a preview of series two. There were just five Cubs in series one, and all five are also in the factory set. That means twelve sneak-peeks at series two. That's the good news. The bad news is that five of the twelve (Duffy, Thompson, Alcantara, Davies, and Deichmann) are no longer with the Cubs.
I ordered a set on Saturday as soon as I saw the tweet. I hope to have the cards within a week.
I read that Deichmann re-signed with the cubs and is in triple A after not being claimed on waivers.
ReplyDeleteYes, he cleared waivers and is with Iowa, but not on the 40 man roster.
ReplyDelete5 of the 12 Series 2 Cubs already gone from the team is no bueno. Could have done a better job.
