2023 Pro Debut Cubs

There are six Cubs prospects in the 200-card 2023 Pro Debut set.  I've got their cards divided up by the Cubs affiliate shown on the card.

The first two are shown with the Cubs Arizona League team.  Hernandez spent the 2023 season in Low-A Myrtle Beach.  Playing in 106 games, he hit .223 with 4 homers and 40 RBIs. Paciolla was the Cubs third round pick in the 2022 draft.  He played with the AZL Cubs again in 2023 and hit .260 over 35 games.

Alcantara was with South Bend for most of the 2023 season before moving up to AA Tennessee for five games.  He put up a .284 average for the year.  Ballesteros' season started in Myrtle Beach (56 games), before moving up to South Bend (56 games) and ending the season in Tennessee (5 games).  He hit a combined .285 with 14 homer and 64 RBIs.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is shown with the High-A South Bend Cubs.  He started the 2023 season in AA, and then moved up to AAA and the finally was called up to the Cubs on September 11.  He played in 13 games, batted 19 times, but was hitless.

Matt Mervis was unstoppable in 2022, playing in A, AA, and AAA.  His combined average was .309 and he hit 39 homers and knocked in 119 runs.  He had a good spring training in 2023 but didn't make the Cubs roster and opened the season in Iowa.  He was brought up on May 5 with much anticipation.  It was wasted anticipation as he hit just .167 over 27 games. He was sent back to Iowa on June 15 and that is where he spent the rest of the season.
