Harpooned A Whale

I harpooned one of my white whales.

I got the one that was difficult, not because of availability, but because of price.... a Kris Bryant autographed card.

There are plenty of his certified autographs out there, but they run from $100 on up.  I run away from that.

So I went the budget route, which means the unlicensed route.

Here's what I picked up:

This is from Panini's Elite set.

It doesn't look too bad because his are is covering up most of the Cubs chest logo.  With his head turned side-ways, not much of the helmet's C is missing either.

If the prices on his card ever come down to more reasonable prices, I may upgrade to a licensed card.  For now, this will be just fine.

By my unofficial count, this makes the 114th different Cubs player to have a certified autograph card issued in a year he played for the Cubs and lists him as a Cub.

In Topps 2016 there's an autographed card for Jason Hammel, so I'll have to grab one.  I also suspect that Jason Heyward will have a certified card in a set or two this year.
