It was a junk wax era year....1993. I've got 570 different Cubs card from that one year. Second place isn't far behind. In fact, its just one year and two cards behind...1992 and 568 cards. Third place is just as close.... 1991 and 563 cards.
Those three years added totaled nearly 1,700 cards! That huge number. From three years Ihave more Cubs that the 1960s and the 1970s combined, which gave me 1347 cards. Crazy days for collectors in the early 90s!

I am far more jealous you have 22 cards pre 1916. I think I have 1.
ReplyDeleteDon't get too jealous...they're reprints. Also, of the 37 cards listed for 1909, all but three are reprints. In fact, the only non-reprints that I have pre-1951 are T206s of Tinker, Evers, and Chance.
DeleteI could imagine with the Cubs winning the World Series, the 2017 haul for Cubs cards is going to get ridiculous if you chase all of the different insert sets that likely are going to glutton the market - particularly from Topps. I would also bet that Donruss is going to have a lot of Rizzo, Schwarber and Bryant cards, seems like they already have too many in the no-logo cards!
