World Champion Cubs Cards

So what if the team featured was from 103 years ago!

I picked up this set a couple weeks ago. It's from TCMA's 1987 Baseball's Greatest Teams set. The 1907 Cubs were the oldest of the ten teams available. Each team set featured nine cards and were originally sold for $1.00. I picked mine up for $1.99.

The 1907 team reached the World Series for the second year in a row. After falling to the White Sox in the '06 Series, the Cubs won their first World Championship by sweeping the Tigers. They would repeat in 1908, again beating the Tigers and becoming baseballs first repeat World Series winners.

The team featured the double play combination of Tinkers to Evers to Chance. Hall of Fame pitcher Mordecai Brown was the ace of the staff. All four are enshrined in Cooperstown.

And there were five other guys too!
