Senor Williams 1968

It's been a while since I've added anything to the Billy Williams master collection.  All I've got left are the expensive oddballs.  Patience has been the word, and it recently paid off.

This is the 1968 Venezuelan version of Billy's 1968 Topps card.  You can see that its a bit rough, but I'm fine with that.  The card rarely shows up on Ebay, so when one popped up, I couldn't be too picky.  Right now there is just one listed, and it has a BIN of $100.  I got mine for 10% of that.

The back is in even worse shape, with some paper loss, but again, no biggy to me.

You'll notice that everything on the front and the back is identical to the regular Topps version.  Having never seen one of these before, I just assumed the back would be in Spanish.  I assumed incorrectly.

So how do you know if the card is from Venezuela?

By squinting and looking very carefully at the bottom.

The master collection is now up to 74% complete, with 94 of 127 in hand.  I'll keep plodding along.

  1. Paul,

Do you have the 1965 card for Cubs' pitcher Wayne Schurr (#149)? I recently discovered that I have two.
