Five Random Cubs Cards

I've got 13,917 Cubs cards from 107 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.

1900s - 1970s: 1950 Bowman #114 Wayne Terwilliger  FYI, this card is a reprint.  My real Bowman cards begin with 1953.  I like how the artist tried to make this look like Wrigley Field.  The ivy works but the houses behind the ivy...no.

1980s: 1981 Topps #492 Barry Foote  Oh the irony of a player with the last name of Foote that has absolutely no foot speed at all.  Watching him go for a double or trying to score from second on a single was an adventure.

1990s: 1991 Studio #155 Shawon Dunston  This comes from the first year of Studio.  I like the concept, but I do not like the black and white.

2000s: 2006 Topps #531 Juan Pierre  Lots of speed, gloves in hand, baggy uniform...this is Juan Pierre.

2010s: 2011 Gypsy Queen Home Run Heroes #15 Andre Dawson This is from one of the insert sets in Gypsy Queen's initial release.  This is the only GQ card from 2011 that show Dawson as a Cub.  He had two others that showed him as an Expo.

  1. Love the Terwilliger card. I had the privilege of getting an original signed by the man a few years back.

  2. Love the WT as well. I only wish it were larger.
