2019 Topps Chrome Set

Topps Chrome is back again with a checklist of 204 cards.  The concept remains unchanged - shiny cards using the flagship brand's design.

Six Cubs were placed on the checklist.

Four were the usuals.

Kyle Hendricks is finally getting some attention from Topps.  Maybe one day they will give him a relic or autograph card.

The sixth player was a waste of a spot.  Arcia never made it to Chicago and was released in mid-July.  He has since been picked up by the Yankees and is with their AAA team right now.

  1. Topps has done this twice this year with the Cubs. Arcia now and Johnny Field early. Meanwhile there's a certain Mariners All-Star who has not been included in a retail or hobby release yet in 2019. Ugh.

  2. Will continue to have to wait on Grandal until the Update series, Jesus Aguilar seemed like a waste since they dropped him for nothing a year after being an All-Star, glad they didn't give him an extension.

  3. What is with Topps' ridiculous need to put the player's last name before their first name?

One of the dozen or two reasons I don't buy current cards.
