Five Random Cubs Cards
I've got 16,995 Cubs cards from 200 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1915 Cracker Jack #89 Larry Cheney Cheney won 67 games over three years for the Cubs... who knew??
1980s: 1983 Fleer Stickers #127 Bill Campbell Campell is looking pretty ragged in this shot.
1990s: 1996 Donruss #99 Randy Myers Donruss has him with the Cubs, but he left the team as a free agent after the '95 season and spent 1996 in Baltimore. In his three years with the Cubs he averaged 37 saves. Why did they not try re-sign him?
2000s: 2007 Topps Factory Bonus #4 Wade Miller Mille was a reclamation project that didn't work out.
2010s: 2014 Heritage Minors Mascots #OC Ozzie Cougar It made such perfect sense when the Cubs made the Cougars their class A affiliate. Having the team in the Chicago suburbs seemed ideal. Yet they switched to South Bend after just two years in Kane County.

The move to South Bend was a big bummer for me. I could do the trip up the interstate to the suburbs, but that trip to South Bend is a much longer drive. Plus, Kane County and Peoria are in the same division so they play each other on a regular basis. Conversely, the Chiefs on play South Bend for one 3-game series each season. Cue the sad trombone music.
