Topps Living Set Ernie Banks

Kudos to Topps for the quick and free shipping on the Living Set cards.  My Ernie Banks card came on Wednesday and that was with a delay when the package sat at a USPS facility for two days without moving.

And what was the print run?

My guess was 3,200.

That turned out to be way too low.  Topps ended up selling 5,406 of Mr. Cub.  I understand that Topps had cards on hand to sell at the National Convention last week. That probably boosted the number a bit.

It didn't seem to have any affect the other two cards from last week. The print run for the White Sox Harold Baines was 2,821 and for Cardinal Dakota Hudson it was 2,639.

Ernie's card is the ninth Cub in the set, so they make a nice 3x3 tile.

  1. I forgot Morrow was given a card. You think we've seen the last of him in a Cubs uniform? He seems to think he may be healthy enough to contribute in September.

  2. I'm not holding out much hope for his return, though it sure would be nice. In all the discussion about the bullpen and the various injuries, I haven't heard Morrow's name brought up.

  3. Interesting they have not done any starters? You would think Hamels, Darvish, Hendricks, Quintana, or Lester would get one next but they will probably do Kimbrel.
