Here's a look at the autographs I have of the 2007 Cubs, a team that Lou Piniella brought out of nowhere to win the NL Central.
The lineup was pretty consistent throughout the year except for the catcher. Geovany Soto came up in September and hit .389 over 18 games. By doing that he earned his was into the starting lineup and was the catcher in the NLDS. For that reason I included him instead of Michael Barrett or Jason Kendall, who split the catching for most of the season.
A decent majority of cards are certified autographs, eight of the eleven. The only card I had to cheat with a bit was Cliff Floyd's. He is not a very big signer and no signed Cubs cards were available. He is also lousy at signing through the mail. So I copped out and got a 1991 Stadium Club card. It shows him in regular clothes as a draft pick and doesn't list a team.
