Nick Burdi pitched an inning on Tuesday, becoming the 35th player to take the field in 2023 as a Cub. His story is one of persistence and dedication, as he made his first MLB appearance since a couple of arm injuries in 2019 and 2020. He first hurt his arm in 2019 and had thoracic outlet surgery. He came back and made three appearances in 2020 before getting hurt again and requiring Tommy John surgery. It's a pretty decent comeback story and you can read more about him here.
