Five Random Cubs Cards

I've got 13,891 Cubs cards from 105 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.

1900s - 1970s: 1952 Bowman #126 Phil Cavarretta  (Full disclosure:  The 1952 Bowman cards in my collection are reprints.... I don't start with the real Bowmans until 195  The 1952 season was a mixed bag for Cavarretta.  He had his worst season as a player (hitting just .238 in 41 games).  But as manager of the Cubs he had his best year, as the team finished .500, the first time they reached that mark since 1946.

1980s: 1984 Topps #151 Steve Trout  The lefty had the best season of his career in 1984.  He posted a career-best 13 wins and topped the team in games started and innings pitched.  He also pitched the Cubs to a 4-2 win in game 2 of the NLCS, going eight strong innings.

1990s: 1992 Old Style Team Issued #14 Ken Hubbs This card comes from a set the Cubs and Old Style put together which included 28 cards of former Cubs greats.  It was given away at Wrigley Field on August 28 to the first 20,000 adults.

2000s: 2001 Topps Chrome #378 Sammy Sosa  Sammy set a major league record in 2001 by recording his third season of 60+ home runs.  Any change that the record will every be broken?  In the post-steroid era, I'd say no.

2010s: 2010 Turkey Red #150 Starlin Castro  The RNG gives me another change to say so long to Starlin Castro.  In 2010 Turkey Red was an insert, not a stand-alone set.  Castro's card was part of the Update set.  It didn't take Topps very long to jump on the Starlin Castro bandwagon.
