Harpooned a White Whale!

After two years of hunting I've harpooned one of my white whales!  I usually wait until I have the card in hand to write a post, but I couldn't wait with this one.

The picture comes from the Ebay auction.  This whale is the 2014 Darwin Barney clear acetate card.  I've already got 25 other versions of the card, but this is the one I really wanted.  The clear cards seem pretty cool, but they're also numbered to just ten.

When the set came out in 2014 I saw a couple listed but they went at a crazy high price.  About a year ago I saw another listing, but unfortunately it was in the sold listings.  Some how I missed it when it was listed.

I wasn't going to miss out on this one.  I set the sniper at a higher price than I would normally pay.  As it turned out, it wasn't really necessary.  I got this /10 card for 15 bucks... a good deal as far as I'm concerned.

More pics to come when I got the card in hand.

  1. I love the clear cards. Like you said the rarity makes them hard to secure, but you will really like them once you see it in person. Congrats!

  2. Very good deal. I hate ridiculous prices on cards. Especially when they are first released. Looking forward to seeing the full collection when the clear one comes in.
