1964 Billy Williams Bazooka

The 1964 Billy Williams Bazooka card has been on my wish list for a while.  Since it was cut from the bottom of gum boxes, it isn't widely available.  Those I've seen have gone for prices beyond my comfort zone.

The auction for my card started at a price that was already near my max.  Luckily for me, I was the only bidder, and the card was mine.

The card features a nice posed shot of Billy at the Polo Grounds.

As you can see from the card, there are 36 different players in the '64 Bazooka set.  Billy was one of two Cubs. The other? Ernie Banks....nope.  Ron Santo....wrong again.  The other Cubs was pitcher Dick Ellsworth, who had won 22 game for the Cubs in 1963.
