Five Random Cubs Cards
I've got 14,442 Cubs cards from 109 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: Bowman 1949 #38 Emil Verban His claim to fame came years after his playing days ended. George Will, among other Chicagoans living in D.C. formed the Emil Verban Society, a group of die-hard Cub fans.
1980s: 1980 Topps #54 Dennis Lamp Lamp looks like a pretty happy-go-lucky guy on this card. Maybe he's so happy because he was a league leader in 1980. Then again, he shouldn't have a smile because he was the 1980 NL leader in earned runs allowed.
1990s: 1999 Stadium Club #48 Jeremi Gonzalez Gonzalez injured his elbow in July of 1998 and didn't pitch in the majors again until 2003
2000s: 2004 Diamond Kings #152 Mark Grace That is one funky looking drawing of Mark Grace.
2010s: 2010 Upper Deck #110 Kosuke Fukudome UD said FU Topps with this card by showing logos in two spots. Topps replied in kind and shut Upper Deck down.
1900s - 1970s: Bowman 1949 #38 Emil Verban His claim to fame came years after his playing days ended. George Will, among other Chicagoans living in D.C. formed the Emil Verban Society, a group of die-hard Cub fans.
