Five Random Cubs Cards
I've got 16,650 Cubs cards from 196 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.
1900s - 1970s: 1966 Topps #423 Ernie Broglio This a painful card to look at -- Broglio for Brock. Broglio's career was finished in 1966, his last appearance was made on July 2.
1980s: 1987 Team-Issued Coaches A Billy Williams card! We, sort of. He is definitely the biggest name among the five.
1990s: 1995 Bowman #86 Doug Glanville That squished and mirrored picture on the left is weird looking.
2000s: 2008 Topps #643 Matt Murton Murton's Cub career ended in 2008, as he was traded to the A's in July. Rich Harden was the big name that came to the Cubs. In the same trade, the Cubs sent future AL MVP Josh Donaldson to Oakland.
2010s: 2011 Topps #154 Marlon Byrd Diamond It's been a few years since Topps put out sparkly type parallels. I am fine with that.

I remember Donaldson catching in Peoria and not thinking twice about him. Some guys stand out, like how Javy Baez did, and some fly under the radar for a while until they blossom.
