Drakes Bakeries issued sets from 1981 though 1988. The card were made by Topps for the first five years and then independently from 1986 - 1988. The Topps fronts have a design unique to Drake but the backs were the same as the Topps base set.
The size of the set varied, with 33 being the most common. The only exceptions were 1985 (44 cards) and 1986 (37 cards). Each set has at least one Cubs player and the 1985 set has the most Cubs, four. There are a total of 15 Cubs cards over the run.
Drakes is based in the east and I never saw their products in the Midwest. It was Hostess and Little Debbies here.
And here's an oddity... of the fifteen cards, fourteen feature ex-Dodgers or Phillies.
