So I was playing around with my Cubs inventory spreadsheet and did a sort by season. I wondered which year added the most cards to my collection. If you had to make a guess, you'd probably guess it would be from the junk wax days of the early '90's.
Well, you'd be right. The winning year. with a whopping 379 cards was.....
1992!
They come from thirteen different brands. I was hoping that there was one player in all thirteen, but the best I could come up with was twelve. The holdout was 1992 Action Packed, which featured players from the past.
Here is Billy Williams' card for the Action Packed set.
And the rest of the cards are all of Mark Grace....Bowman, Donruss, Fleer, Fleer Ultra, Leaf, Pinnacle, Score, Stadium Club, Studio, Team Issued, Topps, and Upper Deck.
Ah, for the good old days when there were no exclusive contracts and everyone and their brother was printing up cards!
I have been collecting a long time and the most cards any year I bought was in 1991
ReplyDeleteMark Grace... my favorite player from the 90s.
