Eighties Alphabetically - Coke

The king of cola teamed up with the king of cards in 1981 to produce 11-card team sets.  The design of the cards used the 1981 Topps template along with the addition of the Coke logo in the upper right hand corner.

Sets were produced for eleven of the 26 MLB teams and the Cubs were one of the eleven.  Coke had a later press deadline than the Topps sets because there are some traded players shown.  Three Cubs in the Coke set, Leon Durham, Steve Henderson, and Ken Reitz, were shown with other teams in the base Topps set. Durham and Reitz were traded to the Cubs from the Cardinals on December 9, 1980 while  Henderson came to the Cubs in February of 1981.
