Circa 1996

Fleer's initial release of the Circa brand was in 1996.  It was intended to be a super-premium set, with packs going for five bucks each.  The concept wasn't embraced by dealers and the packs were cut  back to $1.99 each.

The borderless cards feature a team-specific background and a picture of the players.  There is also a quote from the player or about the player on the front of the card.  That was (and still is) something not often seen, writing on the front.

The set is made up of 200 cards and the Cubs were given six slots.
