Five Random Cubs Cards

I've got 21,193 Cubs cards from 316 different brands listed on a spreadsheet. A random number generator picked five cards, one each from the past several decades.

1900s - 1970s: 1975 O-Pee-Chee #363 Carmen Fanzone Though included in the 1975 set, Fanzone was released by the Cubs in December, 1974.  His .190 batting average over 65 games probably had something to do with that.

1980s: 1982 Topps #452 Lee Smith The RNG has pulled Smith two weeks in a row.  The Cubs actually tried to make Smith a starter in 1982.  He had five starts from June 16 - July 6, recorded four losses, and never started a big league game again.

1990s: 1990 Star Silver #87 Jerome Walton That is not a good look on Walton's face.  Did he just get thrown out on a steal attempt?

2000s: 2005 Topps Total #178 LaTroy Hawkins  The 2005 season marked the beginning of the nomadic part of Hawkins' career.  He spent nine seasons with the Twins and then signed with the Cubs in 2004.  Halfway through the 2005 season he was traded to the Giants.  He career lasted until 2015.  He played with ten different teams over those final eleven seasons.

2010s: 2012 Gypsy Queen #72 Ryan Dempster For Cubs fans, the best part of Dempster's 2012 season was his trade to the Rangers in late July.  Among the players the Cubs got was an unknown pitcher in High A named Kyle Hendricks.
