1969 One Cub At A Time - #404 Cubs Rookies

Gary Ross gets an updated 1969 card because he did get a little time with the Cubs in 1969. He was a first round draft pick of the Cubs in 1967 and by 1968 the 20 year old was in the major leagues. He made two April appearances in 1969, but on April 25, he and Joe Niekro were traded to the Padres for pitcher Dick Selma. Most of his work with the Padres was out of the bullpen and he had a record of 3-12. He would spend six seasons with the Padres and another three with the Angels.

Vic LaRose career was short and unsweet. He played in four games for the Cubs in 1968, was 0-3 with a hit by pitch, and never made it back to the majors.
