In 1993 Studio was in it's third year and they did a flip-flop. The studio pose was placed on the back and a candid, action shot was on the front. And even odder, the studio pose on the back was cropped on most cards with only half of the player's face showing. This release would be the only time in Studio's run that the front didn't have a studio pose. I guess that makes sense. After all, they're called "Studio," not "Action."
The front also contains a shot of a team patch. The Cubs cards used either the hat's C (on four of the cards) or the bear on the sleeve (shown on five cards).
The autograph on the front is a Studio oddity, too. It's the only time an autograph made an appearance on the front of a Studio card.
The backs continued to list some "Up Close" information on each player, and this time, they included the player's favorite sports announcer.
Ryne Sandberg, both the front and the back....favorite announcer...Harry Caray
Steve Buechele....favorite announcer...Dick Endberg
Mark Grace....favorite announcer...Chick Hearn
Jose Guzman...favorite announcer...Chris Berman
Derrick May....favorite announcer...Harry Kalas
Sammy Sosa....favorite announcer...Harry Caray
Jose Vizcaino....favorite announcer...Vin Scully
Rick Wilkins....favorite announcer...Harry Caray
Willie Wilson....favorite announcer...Marv Albert
Perhaps the best Studio release ever.
