Up for today are the three Cubs in the Turkey Red insert set.
Turkey Red jumped on the Starlin Castro bandwagon.
They also seem to have a weird man-crush on Rogers Hornsby. This is the second year in a row he's been featured as a Cub in Turkey Red. The weird thing is that he only played 317 of his 2259 career games with the Cubs. I think most fans think of him as a Cardinal. I wonder why Topps doesn't?

There were a total of seven Cubs among the 150 of this year's Turkey Red. Of the seven, three were Old Timers (Banks, Sandberg, and Hornsby), one is now an ex-Cub (D-Lee), and three are still with the team.

ReplyDeleteI think this is the best insert set Topps has put out the last 2 years and the only insert set I've been trying to complete. It'll be interesting to see if the Kimball Champions inserts next year are as good.
