The 2023 Clubhouse Collection Cubs - Yes, Topps Messed Them Up Too

Clubhouse Collection relics have been a staple of Heritage from the start.  I like these relics and have picked up one of each of those have been made for the Cubs.  There are five in this year's Heritage and they were pretty easy to get.  Relics seem to have lost their value among collectors.  Topps seems to be making fewer of them too.

Before we talk about the screw-up, can we talk about how boring the pictures look?  The all have the same boring Photoshopped background in the exact same spot.  If Topps has to add in the background, why not use a vintage stadium?  I'm sure that there are plenty of posed shots from the Seventies that they could use to borrow a background.  And the poses are pretty boring too.  Notice how I put the Happ and Wisdom cards next to each other since they look almost identical to one another.  Same with Morel and Suzuki.

Moving on, can you spot the Topps screw-up?

Its with the color of the border flags.  The Cubs color should be the one used on Happs card, the pinkish color.  Yet, Horner, Wisdom, and Morel have theirs done in red, the White Sox' color.  No, Topps, just because it says Chicago doesn't mean that you put it in red....red is for the other Chicago team.   The card for Suzuki was done in orange.  That was the color for the Mets.  I just don't get it!!

And if you were wondering, the cartoon on the back of the Clubhouse Collection cards is recycled like the ones on the backs of the regular cards.

    1. Color apparently didn't matter with Clubhouse Collection. Why would they do that?
